Our story seems like an everyday one. Danny and I are both members of a gospel youth ensemble. He plays the bass guitar and I sing. We were really good friends for some time, telling each other of the objects of our affection at that time. It was so ironic! Then one day the thought of us becoming a couple entered the conversation and initally I threw that idea away. Or so I made it seem. We started dating, and it became quite an event in the midst of the group. No one saw us coming together as a couple. But God had another plan. I told God that I was tired of the playful relationships and I wanted the next person I date to be my husband. I guess He honoured my request!

We continued dating for about 2 1/2 years. One day Daniel came for me from work at the bank for lunch. After lunch I thought that was the last I was going to see him until I got off. But all this time Daniel was planning something else. It was about 3:30 and the bank was already closed. All of a sudden I saw 2 hosts of a local tv show enter the bank and go into the manager's office. I thought nothing of it. Then the supervisors gave us a bogus story of how we were going to be interview about a campaign that the bank was at that time participating in. The hosts interview a few people before me. I couldn't hear the questions that they were asking them, and that was intentional. When I went to the camera, the host and I cracked a few jokes and then we began the interview. I was thrown off because the first question that I was asked was not bank related at all. It was at that moment, the music started to play in the background and I was still clueless. My back was facing Daniel, as he was sneaking up behind me. My managers knew what was going on but it was at that time that the rest of my coworkers finally caught on. The host spun me around and I was facing Daniel in completely different clothes than he had on at lunch. To cut along story short, he proposed on the show. It was broadcasted later on that week and for about a month after that. We became local celebrities overnight!
