Daryl & I both grew up in Palm Beach Gardens although he moved here when he was five from Pittsburgh. We both went to the same grade school and church growing up but never knew each other. We did have a lot of the same friends and found it strange that we never met, until a friend reminded us they we did meet once before at a party in my high school days . Towards the end of the night Daryl fell asleep sitting in a chair (which he still does to this day ) And I thought it would be funny to pour honey in his hair. Needless to say he didn’t think it was too funny and I didn’t see him again until we met 11 years later. Neither one of us remembered the whole thing which was good for me!
I moved back home after college while job hunting. I finally had a lot of spare time to get back to the things I loved like surfing which I picked up while studying in Costa Rica.. My best friend Beth kept telling me she wanted me to meet her friend Daryl who surfs all the time. I didn’t really like to surf alone so I was happy to meet him. Beth and I headed to the beach one day where I finally met Daryl. We hit the waves that day and hit it off right away. We’ve been riding the endless wave of love ever since!
Our biggest common link is sports. Besides surfing we like to ski and snowboard, wakeboard, and play kickball and flag football which we put a team together for. It’s a great feeling to do something you love with someone you love. The support that we show for each other on the field (or beach) carries off the field and into other aspects of our life.
We also enjoy hanging out with friends and having quiet nights at home with our dachshund Frank. We have a good time just sitting around talking about various things. Daryl’s a huge history buff and he likes to spit out random facts here and there which is always entertaining. I was quite impressed when I told him my Mom was Jamaican and he didn’t ask if she was black Sounds funny but believe it or not I get that a lot. Daryl told me more about the British history in Jamaica then I ever knew! We look forward to living our lives to the fullest and starting a family of our own one day. First we have plans to buy an established business together with workers in place so we can have more time together.

April 19th is getting closer and closer We’re pretty excited. The ceremony will be held at St. Clare Church in North Palm Beach. I was baptized there and it’s where Daryl was confirmed.

Our reception will begin at 5:00 P.M at the Doubletree Hotel. There will be a small gap between the ceremony end time and reception start time. The hotel has a really nice lounge where guest are welcome to wait. We originally really wanted a beach front reception since that’s where we met but everywhere was booked up. We fell in love with how pretty and unique the Doubletree was when we toured it. The interior of the hotel has been newly renovated and is just gorges! The outside is what we really were in aw over. The pool is lined with posh south beach style day beds with manicured dolphin hedges in the background. I saw a lot of picture unique spots including a little footbridge with a beautiful waterfall behind it. They have a outdoor pavilion surrounded by lush tropical landscaping which is where we planned on holding our reception. Unfortunately we recently found out that it wasn’t going to work with the number of guests we’re expecting on top of the D.J and dance floor.
The Ball Room is much more spacious and we won’t have to worry about the rain or humidity either. We will however still be having our cocktail hour on the outside veranda which will give everyone a great view of their lovely grounds. Guests are also free to walk around and explore.
The Doubletree is only about a ten minute drive from the church. You would simply head north out of the church on Prosperity to PGA Blvd. Make a left on PGA heading west for about 2 miles. The hotel will be on the right just after you pass under the interstate. It’s on the north east corner of PGA Blvd and Military Trail.

The Hotel I strongly recommend is a small inn on Singer Island. It’s called the Belletrix Resort.
It’s an apartment style inn right on the intercostal waterway. They have a nice pool and even a private beach along the water. The main beach is only a block away as well as many restaurants and shops. For the location and price there is no better deal in town. For more information and pictures go to www.myspace.com/bellatrixresort.
If you stay there and you’re here on Thursday you should check out the art festival at the Sailfish Marina. It’s a weekly festival with entertainment, great food, and local vendors. The Sailfish restaurant is one of the best in town. They serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Another one of my favorites in Johnny Longboats which is in the ocean mall right in front of the beach. If you go you have to try their grouper in a bag, it’s to die for!
If you’re looking for a bigger more upscale hotel there are many in the area to choose from. Besides the smaller family run places most are pretty pricey. I strongly recommend using my Custom Vacation Planner (who happens to be one of my bridesmaids) Cheryl Lynn Canzanella with Travel Lynn USA. Not only is she a pleasure to talk to but she’ll find you a hotel based on your particular wants, needs, and budget. She’s native to this area so she also can give you plenty of advice and local dining and activities. You can contact Cheryl at 561-386-0537 or TravelLynnUSA@yahoo.com. www.TravelLynnUSA.com

We’re very excited to have so many of you coming to share our big day with us. This is a day we will cherish and remember forever, and it wouldn’t be as special without all of you there.
We look forward to seeing you all on April 19th!
